OUR STORY
2025 UPDATE:
The Prairie City Fiber Fest happened every year during the last full weekend of July, from 2019 to 2025. This year was the final festival, which took place July 26-27, 2025, with workshops starting on the 25th, and vendors showing their wares on the 26th and 27th.
Looking for a dynamic fiber festival in a small rural community?
Come check out the Prairie City Fiber Fest located in eastern Oregon in Prairie City, population 900 or so. We offer a laid back atmosphere with lots of small town charm for talented fiber vendors, instructors, students, and visitors. No traffic or parking hassles, as everything is within walking distance from the main outdoor marketplace in the centrally located City Park. Stroll through the park marketplace and listen to live music, then check out more vendors in the adjacent Community Center and Youth Center buildings. You’ll find everything from live sheep, raw fleeces and roving, to colorful plied yarns and finished handcrafted items. Be sure to stop at the Information Table where we have Ewenique tees and totes for sale, and sign up for a workshop. A ‘spinning circle’ tent provides a shady place for anyone to sit and spin, knit, or crochet.
